Last Thursday 11th April, we went to the theatre in Vilanova i la Geltrú to see the play Tarzan, all in English! It was very funny, we laughed a lot!
This is Jane the photographer, and Clayton the hunter. They are looking for monkeys in the jungle.
These are Tarzan and his monkey Cheeta. Tarzan is strong, brave and attractive. But he smells very bad! So, he asks for help from his animals friends about personal hygiene.
Andrea Riol (3rdA), Joan R. (4thA) and Melissa (teacher) participated in the story! They did a competition: Melissa had to mime some animals and the children had to guess them.
A crocodile eats Clayton:
Now Jane likes Tarzan and Tarzan likes Jane. They fall in love...
It was a fantastic play, we had a lot of fun!
What's your opinion about the play? You can write your comments here (remember to write your name and class).
Benvinguts al bloc d'Anglès de l'escola les Roquetes. Esperem que us agradi i hi participeu!

A project with a school in Hungary
We are happy to announce that we have started a project with a school in Hungary.
Our partner school is St Andrew and it's in a town called Szentendre, in the north of the country and close to the capital, Budapest. The English teacher Eszter and Michael got in contact to work together in this cultural project.
We have started this project with a presentation video:
In their video the boys and girls from Hungary show images and some text talking about the country, their town, the school and themselves. Here is the video from our Hungarian friends:
And here is the video of the boys and girls of 5th grade of Les Roquetes School. The students brought all the images, photos and music in the video. They wanted to show the typical places and things of our country and culture.
We are very happy and excited about making new friends. We are looking forward to the second part of this project.
Thank you very much for the effort! It's fantastic!
By the way: you can leave your comments and opinions in the comments section below.

The Robots Project
Hi there!
Here you can watch a video of one of the groups presenting their robot Star:
We hope that you like it!
The students of 5th level have finally presented their Robots Projects. They were a bit nervous because they presented them in front of the class.
The presentation in the cardboard, the oral expression and the contents of their work are the three main things the teacher has evaluated.
Most of the students have done a big effort to meet up, to be creative, to use their imagination and to do their best to do a proper project.
Here you can see some pictures of the final works:
Some students even bring robots they have at home:

Jingle Bells by 6th grade
The last day of this term is approaching and all students are practising the Christmas songs in Catalan, Spanish and in English, of course.
The students of 6th grade are learning the classic Jingle Bells BUT they've had a BRILLIANT idea!
They have added an instrument to their performance. Watch it and see how fabulous their idea is and how good they perform it!
Well done boys and girls!

Roquetes TV (2nd part)
Here is the second part of Roquetes TV!
You can't miss it; the boys and girls do their best as actors and actresses. Like in real TV we have to repeat some of the interviews many times, but want them to be perfect.
But the most important thing is that we practise English and we have a good time!

Christmas songs
Christmas holidays are approaching and we can feel the Christmas vibe in every corner of the school.
These days we like singing Christmas songs in different languages. And of course, in English.
Here's a collection of some of the songs we are listening in class. Listen and practise them at home, sing along with your family and have a little bit of fun.

Roquetes TV (part 1)
Hello everyone!
And welcome to ROQUETES TV!
The boys and girls of 5th grade are becoming TV stars! We are learning more about the "Technology" topic. Vocabulary like: log in, log out, surf the internet, send text messages, write emails, read a webpage, etc...
We are also practising the frequency adverbs like: always, often, sometimes, never...
But the best part is to become real TV presenters. We have played this activity in the school's playground where we have to ask our classmates about the technologies they use.
In this videos you can watch us act like real reporters.
